In this renovation and decoration of a Deco-era apartment on Manhattan's Upper East Side, clashing collections of Italian design, Art Deco bronzes and Tang Dynasty terra cotta commingle within a classically organized floor plan. The clients were unapologetic for these divergent affections, so we layered vivid palettes, custom-designed textiles and primitive motifs : eschewing traditional boundaries of good taste in favor of a bold eclecticism.

Loew is clearly an authority on the decorative arts – she uses words like “passementerie” and “cerused” with authority. But she also thinks architecturally.
